What is HD? HD is usually known by people before as Hard Disk. But today, HD is an abbreviation for High Definition. What's the meaning of high definition? High quality definition stands for video that's having a higher resolution than the traditional video. While the traditional video that is known by man before is only having two or four hundreds of pixels for every frame it has, this High definition format has almost two millions pixels for each frame. It's about five times the normal video that is known as the standard definition. A frame on video is a picture that the camera is capturing. The camera usually catches 24 pictures for one second.

The term of high quality definition is originated from the 1930s video. But it was not called as high quality definition because the HDTV has existed on that day. Instead, it was higher than the older system that is available that day. The high quality definition format has been improved day by day as the advancement of technology, but still it must not exceed the capabilities of the TV that is showing the high quality definition video, because it wouldn't do anything at all. You will never found any difference at all if a HD video is shown on the standard TV. After all, the standard TV will cut the high definition video on its side because of the ratio used on the video and the ratio that the standard television could support aren't really compatible.

The HDTV is being used to show the advance technology of digital television. The digital television could maximize the capabilities of the HDTV greatly; you will have a better experience of watching movies or TV. The high definition format could enhance the brightness of every movie and the details that can be looked upon watching.

When we talked about HDTV, we talked about compatibility issue. This kind of television is known for its compatibility issue. Since not all electronic devices are really compatible with this television some people are having problems when they want to connect this television with their older device. The cable used on the HDTV is the HDMI cable. HDMI stands for the High definition multimedia interface. HDMI could support the high speed data transfer between one device to another device. The television that is using the HDMI cable would only need one cable to connect all of their devices.

HDTV is the future television, that is can be seen on many television station is showing their interest on the high definition world. The selling number of HDTV are getting higher day by day, it proved its popularity in the world. All TV manufacturers are racing to create the best High Definition television that can be easily accepted by the consumer heart. The high definition format that still being a dream for the movie freaks is now available easily in their home. Prepare yourself on the way to the high definition shows and movies by buying a HDTV.

By <a href="http://fx-deals.com/fios/verizon-internet-phone/"target="_blank" style="color: rgb(163, 0, 6); ">John Terry Santiago

Factors to Consider When Choosing an HDTV

Unless you've been camping out beneath a rock in recent years, you've no doubt noticed the wide spread of high definition televisions, or HDTVs. Now, you might be wondering why you would go through the trouble and expense of upgrading to a new television when you have a perfectly good one sitting in the den right now. In fact, you paid perfectly good money for it back in 1998, why should you ditch it for anything new?

The answer to this question, quite simply, is that HDTVs have a vastly improved image when compared to traditional TVs. If you somehow haven't seen a good HDTV showing some good HD content, you're missing out big time. Quite simply, the difference is night and day, and it is hard to go back to a standard def signal once you have gotten used to full HD.

So, you're sold on the benefits, but unsure as to what type of TV to get. At the moment, the two most popular technologies in the HDTV market are LCD and plasma TVs. LCD TVs are very similar to a flat screen computer monitor. LCD TVs are energy efficient, and are high resolution for their size. They are also very thin, making them easy to mount almost anywhere.

Plasma TVs use a different technology to display the image. This difference allows them to display motion better than most LCD TVs can. However, they are also thick, heavier, and more fragile than their LCD TV cousins. Take a look at both kinds and see which one works well for you.

Once you have chosen what type of TV you'd like, it's time to figure out the size you need. A commonly used formula for sizing up an HDTV is to take your viewing distance in inches, and divide by three to get the minimum size of TV for your room. This isn't a hard and fast rule, but it does help out. Measure the distance from where you will be sitting to where the TV will be, and use this number to figure out the right size.

Once you have your nice new HDTV, you will need to get some HD content to make it worth your while. There are several different ways to get HD content. The easiest way is to buy a digital antennae that will allow you to receive broadcast channels. Since these are digital, they are very high quality. If you want more channels, you'll be wanting to check into some HD plans for cable or satellite TV. If you are going to be watching movies, Blu Ray is now the format of choice for those looking to get HD content. The quality of a Blu Ray movie is stunning when compared with a regular TV signal. You will be quite pleased with adding a Blu Ray player to your entertainment center.

So, buying a new HDTV isn't rocket science, but having these basics in mind can be a great help. Shop around, see what works for you, and enjoy your new HD set!

By David C Wilson

Types of HDTV Recorders

Having an HDTV can change the way you watch television forever. However, not everything has to change. For example, you can still keep on recording your favorite television shows and movies. You just need to get an HDTV recorder.

There are various types of HDTV recorder. One is the DVD recorder with built-in ATSC tuner. This type of tuner is the same one built into HDTVs, which means that your DVD recorder can receive digital over-the-air signals, including high definition broadcast signals, which, in turn, allows you to record them.

In spite of this, though, the signals will still be downscaled and recorded in a standard definition format, and not a high definition format, since they are stored on a regular DVD. This, in turn, means that you won't be able to watch them in their original HD format when you play them back, although the video quality can be almost the same if your DVD recorder has an upscaling feature.

Another type of HD recorder is the High Definition Digital Video Recorder or HD DVR. Just like the standard DVR, an HD DVR allows you to view and record your favorite shows, or even more. The only difference is that they are programmed to receive and store high definition broadcast signals, as well as analog ones. HD DVRs can be purchased from satellite and cable television companies, often as an upgrade or add-on to your subscription, but they can also be bought separately.

Currently, TiVo HD DVRs are the most popular choice, since they also allow you to pause, rewind or fast forward your favorite shows, or even show them in slow motion so you won't have to miss a single detail. TiVo also offers dual tuner functionality, which means you can record a show while watching another - something which is not found on the more expensive Sony HD DVRs. One good thing about Sony HD DVRs, though, like the DHG-HDD250 and the DHG-HDD500, is that they can store more hours - 30 or 60 hours, respectively - and offer an on-screen electronic program guide (EPG) at no additional charge.

Internal HDTV tuners or HDTV tuner cards, which are also called PC tuners or video capture cards, also have HDTV recorder capability. Like some HD DVRs, some allow you to pause live HD content as well. These functions, aside from their lower price, are why some prefer them over the external HD tuners or regular set-top-boxes. However, they have some disadvantages, too, such as the fact that they require you to have a computer and are more difficult to install.

Once installed, though, an HDTV tuner card can help you record your favorite shows on a disc without having to scale them down - if you have a Blu-Ray writer installed in your computer, that is. This is because you can get them to store them on a Blu-Ray disc instead of a regular DVD - either a BD-R disc for single use or a reusable BD-RE disc - which is capable of delivering content in full HD 1080p format. You can only play this disc on a Blu-Ray player or reader, though.

Now that you know about the HDTV recorders available, it is up to you to choose which HDTV recorder you want to get, depending on which one is most convenient for you or which one fits your budget. No matter which type you choose, though, just keep in mind that the HDTV recorder is there to help enhance your personal viewing experience and should not be used for profit in accordance with copyright laws.

By Edward McKellen

HDTV Facts - You Thought You Knew Them All

HDTV is commonly used these days when referring to the latest digital television broadcast. The term stands for High Definition Television. It is the latest fad for viewing different programs on TV. This technology is new and offers better image and sound production than other types of digital television.

One of the facts you must know about HDTV is that the picture output from it is lifelike. This means that the images from the TV looks real as if you are in the stadium or a scene where the broadcasts is shot. If you make a comparison between this picture output and that which is produced from a standard analog TV, you will surely know what I mean. The difference is very clear.

Another fact about HDTV is that the color display from the broadcast is so sharp and attractive that lots of people have fallen absolutely in love with it; including me. The images look quite realistic with the display of varieties of colors. This you will not really get from the view of analog TV.

HDTV broadcasts are usually with the Dolby Digital surround sound. This gives you a three-dimensional sound output, which will make you enjoy the music productions. More so, you will really get the thrill of viewing your TV with sounds that resembles those of a movie theater.

Also, HDTV does not display lines, snow or ghosting which usually interferes with analog TV broadcasts. The broadcasts in HDTV are usually done in a high resolution.

These are some important facts about HDTV that you really need to know.

By <a href="http://secretstohdtv.com/"target="_blank">King J. Your television is supposed to give you pleasure and entertainment, not make you wish you never set eyes on it. To make sure you never get to that point, the best way is to make sure you know in advance how much television you want to buy.

Price comes into play in a few different ways. It can impact the brand of your television, the size, and how you buy it.

Buying a television isn't that different from when you went to school, there are popular brands and brands that aren't that well known. The top brands like Sony, Panasonic, and Samsung typically charge a premium because they spend a lot more time marketing their products and usually give you a warranty that's more comprehensive. If price isn't an issue, you can pick any television. The issue arises when price is a concern which is true for most people in the market today. Then you're left deciding how to compromise.

Companies like Vizio, Olevia, and Soyo have been able to grow marketshare and take it away from the "big 3″ of Consumer Electronics. Instead of flaunting a brand name they speak more about value. They are able to drive sales because people have been taught that most of the HDTV screens are all made the same handful of manufacturers and the picture is almost guaranteed to be better than an older CRT television. Couple this with the thinner form factor and almost any company can get away with making an HDTV providing the price is good enough.

Other companies like Best Buy have created Dynex and Insignia as their own brands. Instead of paying for marketing they show their product in their circulars and on their store shelves and are able to charge less because they don't have to fight. Instead these private label brands flourish because they are labeled as "exclusives." Typically, in exchange for a lesser known name and a low price tag you get shorter warranty. Many manufacturers offer a one year warranty but many of the lesser known brands will only get you 90 days.

You may be able to save a lot by buying online. Shopping in a store can be great for browsing, but buying online can get you an even better deal. Many stores offer free shipping for people who order through them online. It's important to consider that many retail stores offer price matching. This is something which may work in your favor since you will only have to pay tax on the TV which would be much less than shipping if the stores doesn't provide free shipping.

By Luigi Ferguson

Samsung LED HDTV

<embed src="http://www.youtube.com/get_player" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"width="320" height="266" bgcolor="#FFFFFF"flashvars="flvurl=http://v21.nonxt6.googlevideo.com/videoplayback?id%3D57c9bfb42a09487f%26itag%3D5%26app%3Dblogger%26ip%3D0.0.0.0%26ipbits%3D0%26expire%3D1331180702%26sparams%3Did,itag,ip,ipbits,expire%26signature%3D5A46718B1844EE0D56F70A3D3A62E84BFD431E01.1785CDA0B1B825AEDA9E8A2C207C0D2732AAF06E%26key%3Dck1&iurl=http://video.google.com/ThumbnailServer2?app%3Dblogger%26contentid%3D57c9bfb42a09487f%26offsetms%3D5000%26itag%3Dw160%26sigh%3DQqETX231ZvNLX--tsJ9jXMNixzc&autoplay=0&ps=blogger"allowFullScreen="true" />
If you've not been watching the television market regularly, you'll probably be in for a surprise when it comes time to purchase a television. A Samsung LED HDTV will eventually be the choice that you arrive at, if you do your homework.
Obviously you've seen HDTV, DLP, LED, LCD, Plasma, Projection, and many other acronyms and descriptions that you may or may not understand. The manufacturers don't just put these tags on their equipment to confuse you, there's just a lot happening in the world of HDTV.
I mentioned buying a Samsung LED HDTV for a reason, actually for several reasons. We all obviously want the best image reproduction possible when purchasing a television. When you buy an HDTV you are getting the best possible resolution if you purchase a 1080p device, but that doesn't mean the actually image being displayed is gong to be the best, only that the amount of data (pixels) used to generate the image is the best you can buy. Even a 1080i image uses the same data, but it refreshes differently.
When/If you buy a Samsung LED HDTV, you're also ensuring that you've also bought a screen that is capable of producing the best image possible with all of that data.
Most people have heard of plasma displays, and they do offer a good picture, but they also have a relatively short life expectancy, and can't produce an image comparable to a new Samsung LED HDTV.
So, what is all the hype about ? LEDs (light emitting diodes) have been around for a long time. However, it hasn't been until fairly recently that they have been advanced to the point they can now be used in higher power applications. Now they're used in street lights traffic control lights, flashlights, automotive lights (brake lights etc.), and now in HDTV displays, just to name but a very few applications.
The reason Samsung is mentioned exclusively in this article, is because Samsung is completely dominating the LED HDTV world presently. They were in the lead developing the technology and they have not slowed down one bit in developing one fantastic Samsung LED HDTV after another.
So, whether you're looking for a DLP device, or maybe an LCD television, I would look seriously at a Samsung LED HDTV. With the LED technology, you can have an image that is up to 40% brighter, colors that are so much more vibrant, and blacks that are truly black.
Do your research before spending such a large sum of money, although the new LED HDTVs are very affordable. Know that if you buy a DLP set that isn't LED powered, you'll be replacing the light sources after a few years. Understand that when you buy an LCD HDTV that doesn't use LED technology, that you'll be getting a display that can be slow to respond to fast moving images, displays dark grays instead of blacks (Samsung has up to a 500,000:1 contrast ratio), and may have color 'bleeding.' It may look very acceptable, until it's compared directly to a Samsung LED HDTV.
Soon the industry standard will be utilizing LED technology as the primary light source in HDTVs. There is however, no reason to wait, unlike plasma technology for instance, don't expect the drastic price cuts on any Samsung LED HDTV. That's because they are using an older technology that has been advanced. You won't be paying for all of the research and development. Of course the same can be said of any of the major manufacturer's devices also.
Sony, as you would expect, is also becoming a player in the LED TV field, but, as in most of their other products, they are generally priced substantially higher than other similar HDTVs. There are also other brands entering the market, but it is being dominated by Samsung.
By Jeffrey Norris

HD Ready TV Or Full HDTV - What Should I Buy?

HD Ready TVs enable you to receive images in high television. In fact, it is reported that there are over 33 million American households that already have an HDTV.

But it is really worth buying an HD Ready TV? The answer is yes. This is not because a lot of people are buying it but because most television shows and movies being made are produced in this format.

In order for you to make the most out of your HD Ready TV, you will need to do a few things. You have to connect the components together, make some adjustments in the setting panel and then get a high definition signal.

If you are having some difficulty, read the manual because this is what it is there for. It may not provide you all the answers but by trying a few things on your own and maybe doing some research on the web, you will get the hang of it.

For those who are not too confident about setting up the HD Ready TV, you can always ask the help of a professional to do the job for you.

There are three ways to get a signal for your HD Ready TV namely using an antenna, through cable or satellite. How you want to get a signal is up to you but for your reference, read on to see how to work using the various methods.

If you are getting a signal through an antenna, you will need to buy an external free standing HDTV tuner also known as an ATSC receiver or ATSC tuner and an HDTV antenna. If this is done through cable, you will need an HD cable set top-box that can be rented or purchased from your cable company.

Should the signal come from a satellite, you will need to buy a HDTV decoder also known as an IRD or Integrated Receiver/Decoder as well as a satellite dish. All this can be avoided of course if you buy an HDTV instead of an HDTV set.

But what is the difference between an HDTV and a HD Ready TV? Well for starters, you don't have to buy a tuner because this is already built into the unit. You just need to get an antenna and then connect this to the HDTV's F connector.

If signal is coming through cable, you still need to get the set up box. If you happen to have a CableCARD, you don't need to buy or borrow the set-top box. To use this, your unit must have a CableCARD slot and of course the card.

Newer models of HDTV's have built-in slots where you can just insert the CableCARD, which are as big as your credit card.

When you connect the box to the TV, make sure you know which format is being used. There are two types namely 720p and 1080i and knowing what you have will make it easier to match the HDTV's output.

Through satellite, you will need a HDTV decoder or IRD, as well as a satellite dish.

So is it worth buying an HD Ready TV? The answer is no after comparing the HD Ready TV and the HDTV. The HDTV is easier to work with compared to the first one so think twice before you decide to buy a new television.

By Alex Bradbury

How to Select the Right HDTV

Are you one of those people who want to join the new revolution television? Do you want to have crisp images and higher resolution in your viewing experience? Then going high definition is the right choice for you. However, many people are still clueless about how to select an HDTV. But do not worry - here are some tips on how you can find the right HDTV for you and your family.

Remember that size do matter

Yes. The size of the HDTV should be the first thing that you should keep in mind when you decide to buy your very own HDTV. It is very important to consider the space in your home where you want to place your new HDTV. You need to measure the exact space where you want to place your HDTV. Just imagine if your estimated space is actually smaller than the HDTV that you bought? It will be a great inconvenience for you to return and get a replacement for you HDTV.

Decide if you want an LCD or a plasma tv

The two types of HDTV is the LCD and the plasma tv. They have their own characteristics that will cater to different tastes and preferences. The LCD tv is just like the LCD monitors that you use in you computers. The plasma tvs on the other hand can achieve a higher contrast rate than LCD because of the gas particles vibrating inside your television. The general rule of thumb here is that if you are buying a television that is small to mid size, then you should go for LCD television. If you are then going for the bigger sets then you should go out and buy the plasma sets.

Location. Location. Location.

Location is also a very important factor when you are finding the right HGTV for your home. We already discussed why the size of the space is important however, another thing that you should consider is how high the altitude is on your state. The higher the altitude, it is less advisable to buy plasma and it is recommended that you buy LCD television. This is because plasma television installed in high altitudes seldom produce high quality images that you desire. The reason being is that the gas particles in the plasma television will not vibrate properly in high altitudes.

Contrast ratio

Contrast ratio is the ratio of the darkest color to the brightest color that your television monitor is capable to create. Common sense tells us that if you want to have the best viewing experience, then you must choose the highest contrast ratio possible. This is because a higher contrast ratio will ensure that the bright colors will be brighter and the dark colors darker.

These tips will certainly help you in finding out the right HDTV for you and your family. Just consider these things and you will never go wrong in your choice of how to select an HDTV.
By Paul Aragones

The Ideal HD TV Surround Sound Set Up

By Hugh McInnes
Get the best out of your home theatre. High Definition TV brings you Dolby Digital (TM) 5.1 surround sound. 5.1 means five speakers and one subwoofer to envelope you in sound.

Two front speakers and two rear speakers put you in the centre of the action. The picture quality of HDTV will range from 720p to 1080i with a ratio of 16:9. The HDTV (high definition television) is the latest addition in DTV. These transmit programs in a widescreen format with high resolution pictures and surround sounds. Thus, they provide ambience and feel of theaters in homes. The HDTV tuners are also known as a decoders, receivers, and set-top boxes. A HDTV tuner will receive signal in the form of ATSC formats. What is HDTV all about and why the sudden craze for it? Well, HDTV stands for high definition television. It is a television broadcast medium which makes use of digital technology. HDTV is broadcast in widescreen format and Dolby Digital is the audio used. The integration of all this advanced technology results in superb images, life-like videos and crystal-clear sound. In fact, the picture quality we get is so superior, that it sometimes gives the effect of a real theatre experience.

There has been a great influx of HDTVs from different companies all over the world. Different brands are being launched with the idea of catering to the various sections of people everywhere. Along with the launch of these HDTVs, comes the added responsibility to educate the masses regarding the various features and specifications of these HDTVs. Thus the importance of writing reviews of HDTVs. HDTV reviews are meant to allow the people to compare the features and cost-effectiveness of different brands before indulging in one.

Importance of HDTV Reviews

The purpose of reading HDTV reviews is generally to conduct a research on different TVs before purchasing one. These reviews are the information gathered by different people who have bought and used these HDTVs. They provide valuable insight into the working of these units. TV reviews bring out both the advantages and disadvantages of a set. After reading these reviews, you are able to reach a decision about buying the most suitable brand. Sometimes, these television reviews write about the after-sales service of the manufacturers. It helps you to decide in favor of a particular brand if you know that there are a number of service centers in your city with friendly employees who will tend to any problem that you might face. However, internationally renowned a company might be, if it cannot solve the inherent problems of its gadgets immediately, then it loses its credibility.

The Obsession with HDTV Ratings

Most HDTV reviews include HDTV ratings as part of their write-up. These ratings go a long way in helping you to make an informed decision. The ratings are usually given in the form of stars between 1 to 10 and 1 to 5. The more the number of stars, the better the product is. TV ratings improve with advanced features, clear specifications and a promise of warranty and technical support. You will surely opt for a HDTV with superior features only if it provides good technical support a long time after you go through with the deal. The TV ratings are based on these factors. A user will always give a 10/10 rating to a HDTV which not only has the latest features and specifications, but is technically well supported and is optimally priced. Most of the HDTVs available today are mindful of these and are introducing lifetime technical support to boost their sales.

Overview

HDTV reviews are thus the windows to a world of technological know-how. Based on these reviews, you can decide whether to purchase a Sony, Vizio or Samsung HDTV. If you are entirely taken by the review of a particular brand, then you will not hesitate to loosen your purse strings to spend a little bit more. HDTV reviews will give you the inner satisfaction that you have bought the best.

Charles is a self-proclaimed techno-junky who writes interesting technology-oriented topics to help people make easy buying decisions. His unbiased, impartial and authentic HDTV Reviews are a great help to anyone who wants to make the best buy.Television Reviews written by him help make buying decisions easy as they offer honest HDTV Ratings.

HDTV Tips - Improve Your HDTV's Contrast Ratio

By Tom Webster

Contrast ratio is one of the specifications that people seem most interested in when looking for a new HDTV. The contrast ratio is the difference between the darkest dark scene and the brightest bright scene the screen can display. A nice high contrast ratio, like 8,000 to 1 or higher, gives the picture a more lifelike and sharper feel. The exact ratio depends a lot on the way the manufacturer chooses to measure it, so maximizing the contrast ratio by choosing one make of HDTV over another is a dubious plan. But, there is one sure way to improve things, regardless of the TV specs:

The key is to "trick" your eyes a little bit. Your eye's iris (the "aperture" of your eye) will constrict in bright light and dilate in darker light, right? If your TV room is completely dark, your eyes will be dilated and sensitive to low amounts of light, so you will have to turn the brightness down on your screen to make the dark areas appear totally black. This also reduces the brightness of the bright scenes, thus reducing the apparent contrast ratio.

If you place a dim light source, like a small lamp, behind the TV in your otherwise dark room, your iris will contract a bit and allow you to turn up the brightness a little. You will still see black as completely black, and will have more brightness in the bright scenes, thus increasing the apparent contrast ratio and making the picture look better. Constricting your iris also increases the sharpness of your vision, just as stopping down the aperture of a camera lens increases sharpness and depth of field. And the dim, diffuse light will not cause glare on the screen like a direct or overhead light would.

Of course, it also helps to find out if a particular HDTV actually has as good a contrast ratio as the manufacturer claims. One way to find this out is to look at HDTV reviews where actual customers compare notes. And you can check out an HDTV buyer's guide to get a fuller understanding of contrast ratio and other tech topics.

HDTV Basic HDTV Buying Tips to Save Money and Avoid Mistakes People Make

By P Hershon

The difference between HDTV and regular TV is night and day, like the difference between black and white. HDTV is an amazing visual experience. Due to the upcoming 2009 Digital Conversion Law which is wiping out Analog TV Broadcasts, many people are now buying HDTV for the first time. The following are a few basic tips for anyone buying HDTV that will help you avoid major purchasing mistakes and save money Use this as a rough guide. These are my opinions only, which you can do with what you want.

HDTV Buying Tips:

1. Not all digital TV's are HDTV sets. Make sure you are buying an HDTV set.

2.. The viewing screen size area of Wide screen HDTV set is smaller then the viewing screen of a regular TV. Widescreen is meant for a 16:9 Aspect Viewing Picture for HDTV broadcasts while Regular TV sets have 4:3 Aspect for non-HDTV broadcasts. As such the viewing area for say a 26" wide screen HDTV is much smaller then a 26" regular TV set, so if you want the equivilent viewing area, you should buy something like a 32" Wide screen HDTV. The bottom line is, if you are buying a wide screen hdtv, remember that to get the equivalent viewing area of your regular tv, your hdtv should be of a bigger size.

2. Do Not Purchase an HDTV that is not Wide screen. All HDTV broadcasts are in Widescreen which means a 16:9 aspect and will not be correctly viewed on a non-wide screen HDTV.

3. Try to buy an HDTV with 1080 Resolution instead of 720. 1080 Gives you a Better Picture.

4. Anyone using or planning to use Cable or Satellite TV, can save money buying an HD Readyset instead of an HD set with a built in HD Tuner. This simply means, that with your HD ready TV, you will receive your HDTV broadcasts direct from the receiving equipment of your Cable and Satellite Service.

5. You Need actual HD service from your Cable or Satellite Company in order to actually watch HDTV. The price is relatively low. If you do not pay for this service, then your picture is not HDTV.

6. If you get a DVR or TIVO make sure it is an HD DVR or HD TIVO or you will not see what you recorded in HD. You need an HDTV to watch HD playback from an HD DVR or HD Tivo.

7. I would buy an extended warranty just for the security of knowing that if anything went wrong with your HDTV set, you at least have the security of knowing that you'll be able to fix it or repair it right away. For me, the cost of what I paid, was worth the security of knowing I'd have my HDTV for the years to come.

8. If you go to a chain store or department store, many of the pictures you may be seeing on the TV sets on display, may not be actual HDTV broadcasts. I would call the store in advance or go to a store that specializes in HDTV where you know you will be seeing HDTV broadcasts.

9. On the whole, you will be getting better expertise from a salesperson from a store specializing in HDTV then a chain store. This is not to say, that there aren't knowledgeable salespeople at chain stores but the chances are you will find more knowledgeable ones who do this for a career. I would always ask for a salesperson who had been with the store the longest.

10. If you have a Home Theater System, the sound of an HDTV set from its built in speakers is not important. You will actually be receiving your sound through your Home Theater System from your Cable or Satellite TV provider.

11. If you have the money, I personally would recommend you spending the $50 or more dollars to buy quality component cables rather then use the free component cables supplied by your cable or satellite company to connect your HDTV as you'll probably get a better picture.

An HDTV LCD TV Experience - Will an HDTV LCD TV Make You Happy?

By Dylan A. Vince

Just some few weeks ago, together with my friends, we tried to decide on whose house to watch a game, a big game. Ken's house has an advantage being located at the center of everyone's locations. It's 5 miles away from my house, 12 miles from Bret & Sally's, and 6 miles from the house of Jim. However, there is a new baby at Ken's house so we may be interrupted by frequent crying of the baby. Jim suggested watching at Sally & Brent's house. The problem is that they live far from every one of us. They have an HDTV LCD TV, however, they are very horrible cleaners.

We finally decided that we will be watching the big game at my place. I also have an HDTV LCD TV, however, it isn't as new and nice as Sally & Bret's. They probably wanted to watch the big game at my place for I always have the best snacks served and there's more than enough room for all of us.

I bought new speakers on the day that we are going to watch the game. The speakers truly added high-definition sounds (surround) to the high image resolution. My friends were already at my house early, we had beer and some small talks first. During the hour of the game, we all felt the action as if we were there as we watch the big images on the screen of my HDTV LCD TV. We were so moved by the game so we were all lively.

The problem was just that things run very quickly in football, our team was 7 points behind during the middle of the game. We all cheered loudly as we watch the big images on the screen. We were all glad that there is time for halftime break so we could grab more snacks.

Our team was continuously fighting, we were all hollering and hooting at that time while we watch glorious colors and high-definition images in the television.
